This offering is outstanding. Both singles take the electronic dance scene into the 21st centaury. E-Tronic (aka M.I.K.E.) is already getting huge support from all A-List DJs. Armin van Buuren playing it 6 weeks in a row on his radio show ASOT. Marco V has fallen in love with it and Paul Oakenfold insisted Joof got him a white label cut. E-Tronic was made after his collaboration with Armin van Buuren on 'Intruder' andyYou definitely feel those elements in this track.

L.S.G. "Netherworld"

Frankfurt based producer Oliver Lieb is a music production maniac. He's a chameleon, releasing his work under various project names in various styles on various labels. The best known are probably LSG, Spicelab, Ambush and Paragliders but if there is one track that sticks out in Oliver Lieb's career, it’s the one that broke it, ‘Netherworld’ under his infamous LSG guise. Originally released way back in 1997 'Netherworld' was an instant classic. Sasha and Digweed included it on their Northern Exposure 2 compilation and Carl Cox, Danny Howells, Pete Tong and a whole host of DJs supported it. Here are two new mixes, one from the man himself and one from the very talented Oliver Prime.

John 00 Fleming vs M.I.K.E. "Dame Blance"

John 00 Fleming's mix is in the same vein as his remix of Astral Projection's 'Mahadeva', big melodic psy trance riffs, teamed with smooth, crisp percussion. Check out the way he leads into the main breakdown with some killer fx and production trickery. The break is atmospheric in an eerie way before the soaring main riff pierces through it and builds the expectation up before the beats are unleashed. Miika Kuisma, whose 'Atmosphere EP' deservedly received critical acclaim and was a dancefloor smash, has delivered a subtler mix, which builds up from the intro with smooth percussion and a sixteenth bassline before angelic voices are brought in to the mix preceding a high pitched, magical sounding synth riff. Miika Kuisma "Atmosphere E.P."

Sonic Kiss' is a classily produced beefy trancer that has bags of atmosphere & hair raising emotional moments. It has been championed in current trance darling’s Above & Beyond’s sets and on their MOS radio show. 'Twisted' starts with a pounding kick to which acidic style riffs are slowly brought up in to the mix. Miika’s trademark spacey atmospherics set the mood before an arpeggiated bassline rolls in to play triggered by a melodic 3 note synth fanfare that is reminiscent of those sometimes heard in the psy-trance tracks that co-producer John 00 Fleming has become renowned for peppering his DJ sets with. During the last two years Miika has developed a strong reputation and respect among the world's trance scene. At the moment he is considered one of the most important Scandinavian producers.

This is a very special record which Joof have been sitting on since early in the year as it has summer anthem written all over it. Judging by the DJ reactions they have been proved right. ‘The Anthem’ on the AA side track is blowing up right now in clubland and on the airwaves. ‘Ballroom Dancer’ on the flip is a classy driving track that grooves along on a sea of synth riffs and subtly programmed yet mega effective fx and percussion. This track seems to be getting the most plays in the clubs and on radio, a fact that will be understandable once you hear how massive it is.

Aquasource "Waking Up The Sun"

Finnish Producer AquaSource’s debut track for Joof is of the most euphoric quality that will have the masses reaching skywards. It builds expertly from the intro with driving percussion and introductory slices of riffage which lead to the main monster riff that is the centre piece of the track. Acidic riffs are utilised in the post big riff breakdown along with soaring strings and synths before the monster riff comes back in to lift the intensity levels up again and then they are reduced with a melodic outro. Kuffdam & Plant (whose amazing debut for JOOF is big in clubs at the moment with the likes of Tiesto, Aarmin Van Buuren, our own John 00 & pretty much all the other main trance DJs on the planet) have made a stunning remix which is set on a different rhythm and has more of a held down progressive feel

Kuffdam & Plant "Seduction"

The original mix begins with ambient drum hits subtly placed atop the kick drum rhythm. A deep driving 16th bass line filters up over a period of time and atmospheric synth washes are expertly added to the mix along side a choice selection of spacey sounds. This is emotional stuff and will have the crowd reaching skywards & rocking out! The GOA mix is, as you might expect from the title, a more psychedelic influenced affair. It starts off in the same way but the drums pack a bit more punch and are accompanied by a high pitched pattern that gives the mix a completely different feel. At 6 minutes it breaks down in spectacular sonics before swirling goa style acid riffs scorch in to the mix. An excellent alternative mix to the original that is a real frenzy-inducer on the dance floor.

John '00' Fleming vs Astral Projection "Mahadeva"

Following his critically acclaimed ‘Le Voyage’ E.P. John has teamed up with one of the biggest names in the trance world, Astral Projection, to remix one of their most popular tracks, 'Mahadeva', one of the biggest selling psy trance singles to date. A classic update in John’s inimitable style of one of the trance world’s greatest tracks from one of its greatest bands. Astral Projection have been playing John’s mix it in all their live sets globally. The Supakane mix is a pumping dubby affair with a moroder-esque bassline that packs a big punch and is a great alternative to John’s main mix. This mix has a strong modern jackin house influence, which adds a cutting edge to the melodic trance feel.

AR52 "Enigma"

Enigma' begins with a crisp, punchy, drum & high hats with ethereal sounds floating around the mix and an electronic bassline to which layers of sound are added before the kick drum is switched to a break-beat style. The track breaks down to a drum-less section before a big euphoric synth riff is unleashed and the intoxicating rhythm smashes back and takes it off again. 'Air Traffic' is an epic piece of trance that begins with the trademark AR52 punchy drums and a host of fx that create a magical atmosphere. A big bassline thunders into the proceedings accompanied by a 4 note synth line that is at just the right frequency to compliment the mood change that the bass induces. A high pitched synth riff then filters up into the mix before it gets the dubbed out treatment and melts away to lush sweeping strings & sci fi chords. An absolutely stunning track that is almost orchestral in its scale and intensity.

John 00 Fleming "Le Voyage E.P. "

Le Voyage' EP consists of four tracks across two 12" singles that represent the different styles of trance that you would hear during the musical journey that is a John '00' Fleming DJ set. Part one, 'The Main Voyage', begins in deep, atmospheric style. Heavy on the bassline, absorbed in rolling drums, eerie Gregorian monk-like chanting & soaring strings add up to create an intense, highly atmospheric soundscape which breaks down to just the aforementioned chanting. The breakdown continues with the introduction of a euphoric (yet held down in a beautifully simplistic way) synth line which continues as the key element when the drums are reintroduced and the track rolls along in smooth hypnotic style with the emotive, atmospheric strings reappearing also and providing a euphoric counter to the brooding undercurrent. Co-produced by key Joof artist, The Digital Blonde. Part two, 'Tour De Trance', is a track of absolutely epic proportions that has been getting the best reaction from a lot of DJs and has been licensed to be on the forthcoming Euphoria CD. It builds with electronic top layers and powerful synths before settling at a dynamic up-tempo level. Listen for the super emotive, atmospheric breakdown which, according to DJs including Tiesto & Gatecrasher’s Scott Bond, has been taking the roof off when played in the clubs!‘New sound!’ is a blistering 142 BPM monster that would put hairs on the chest of your mother in law! It's driven by an infectious groove and rolling bassline. Add to that a spattering of haunting vocals ("It’s a new sound!"), powerful percussion, swirling synths, atmospheric chords and a ”mad, big dark riff“ breakdown moment. ‘Finnished’ leads us into an altogether different dimension of solid trance. John collaborated with Miika Kuisma from AR52 for this one which, unusually for a trance track, begins with a syncopated drum rhythm that gives it a real swinging feel before scorching electronic synths begin cutting back and forth through the track. A high frequency electronic riff then filters into the mix giving a euphoric feel before it falls in to a powerful breakdown laden with a heavenly vocal stab before settling into a progressive groove laden with clever fx.

Miika Kuisma "Orion"

Miika hails from Finland & is a member of the awesome AR52 production team. 'Orion' looks set to follow in the footsteps of the AR52 tracks, 'Timegate' and 'Hibernation' and become a trance anthem. It’s an epic piece of music full of emotive synths & string that make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. The crisp conga driven percussion with a booming kick ensures that the track grooves effortlessly along up to the breakdown where it drops out to make way for more magical emotive strings before the scorching main riff gradually builds up to a crescendo. The production is 2nd to none. On the flip Tiesto’s good friend and fellow leading Dutch trance man, Misja Helsloot from Gesture records, has provided a classy remix which retains the atmospheric feel of the original but with a slightly deeper, darker edge. In the breakdown an electro breakbeat is introduced to the mix that adds a great dimension to the track. This remix is subtler than the original but equally powerful.

Choci vs Dirtsnob "Future Is"

London based Choci is a legendary figure in the trance world, releasing tracks on his 4 labels, DJing across the globe and running Londons first record shop dedicated to trance. His classy mix is a brooding emotive masterpiece which contains scorching riffs, powerful beats and a haunting breakdown. AR52 whose debut release on Joof, 'Timegate'/'Hibernation', was a smash with all the biggest trance DJs in the world have reconstructed 'Future Is' into an electro trance special. Their mix contains a pulsing bass line that is topped with shuffling beats, a funky 303 riff and is then gradually layered with anthemic strings. Stunningly produced and stunningly effective as Paul Oakenfold will testify after playing out a super advance copy regularly. Dirtsnobs mix follows the other two in that its got a swinging groove but is completely different in all other aspects. It features an acid line that filters up and down in the mix. Emotive pads and harpsichord like synth notes give the track a warm feeling before that acid line smashes back to the forefront of the mix and things pick up pace again. A big favourite on the dancefloor when played by John 00.

The Digital Blonde "The Blonde Witch EP"

Joof favourite, The Digital Blonde, brings us this storming EP featuring two classic and diverse tracks which are sure to rock the dance floor. 'Gothica' is a dark and powerful trancer. Haunting synth sounds ride over the Blondes trademark pounding drums. The breakdown is a real moment, using a creepy ice cream van music style horror film sample which sends shivers down the spine especially as its combined with a spooky vocal lifted from the same movie that asks do you know anything about witches? On the flip The Blonde serves up another high quality trancer entitled 'Noctone', utilizing swirling pads and synth sounds to devastating effect, to create a track that builds and drops in all the right places. The emotive arpeggiated melodies entwine with the relentless powerful bass-line which combined with the drums create a sound large enough to lift the roof off. 'Gothica' was Kicking Cut of the week on Graham Golds KISS 100fm show.

Beetseekers "Walk Of Notes"

Following the massive AR52 'Timegate/Hibernation' 12" was never going to be an easy task but fortunately our intrepid leader, John 00 Fleming has struck trance gold with another BIG record from a Finnish producer, Simo Pagunus who records as Beetseekers.

Walk of Notes is an emotive, soaring trance track that will cause mass euphoria when unleashed on any dancefloor that knows its stuff. Massive synth riffs & sweeping pads combine to create a luscious wall of sound that builds & drops at all the right moments.

The Remix on the flip comes from JOOF favourite, The Digital Blonde whose no nonsense approach sees a tough as nails kick driving the track from the outset which is joined by a sixteenth B-line & snare to create a rolling rhythm on top of which the Blonde layers an array of intense riffs & fx before it drops to ethereal strings that create a magic atmosphere for a moment or two before a mega synth wash punctuates the proceedings followed by a magical riff that is raised up from nothing to the forefront of the mix before the kick explodes back in to take the roof off! A remix of distinction which completes a classy little package that should have something for all lovers of quality trance!

AR52 "TimeGate"

AR52's quality trance AA side featuring 'Timegate' and 'Hibernation' , marks the re-launch of DJ John 00 Fleming's Joof Recordings. AR52 comprise of Miika Kuisma; an electronic producer based in Helsinki, his countryman DJ Tab & Singaporean producer Luke Chen.

'Timegate' gently guides us into the hypnotic and, at times, eerie world of futuristic sounding Trance. The three-minute mark heralds a semi-euphoric breakdown, which filters into a pure void before returning with a harder-edged sound that creeps along in smooth hypnotic style.

'Hibernation' leads us into an altogether different dimension of solid trance. The main aspect of this track can be seen in the constant shifting between high and low tempo sounds. Beginning with a classic kick drumbeat, 'Hibernation' spirals back and forth before settling at an up-tempo level and breaking down at the four-minute mark.

This superb AA side from AR52 has both presented the perfect comeback for Joof Recordings and launch on to the UK scene for AR52. With heavy rotation off TP from from Paul Oakenfold, Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, "Biggest tune at Gatecrasher last week, we both played it!"
